Extract:
Some visitors to these islands don't want to go far - they simply stay put and enjoy the sun and sea, wandering from hotel to beach and back again. Others want to explore the island of Ibiza, starting with its three main urban centres: Eivissa (Ibiza Town), Sant Antoni and Santa Eularia. Some head for the interior to explore the classically Mediterranean landscape, dotted with white Ibicenco farmhouses, and find time to drive around the magical, rugged coastline. An excursion to Formentera reveals a different landscape and scene: a desert island that is more relaxed, more rural and thus more traditional. The beaches are less crowded and the overall atmosphere is laid back and lazy. Nevertheless, Formentera has resorts, hotels, restaurants and nightclubs to satisfy those needing a few reminders of the high life.
