A 112-page, paperback atlas with maps, street plans, photographs, and descriptions of the province’s main places of interest.The opening notes on the history of KwaZulu-Natal and the possibilities it offers for outdoor recreation are followed by an 18-page section on Durban, with street plans and maps of the Botanical Gardens, the uShaka Marina World, the Inanda Heritage Trail, the restaurants and nightclubs of the waterfront, etc. The following chapters cover the North Coast, Zulu Land and surrounds, the South Coast, Kloof to Mooi River, the Drakensberg (including a page on visiting Lesotho), and the Battlefields Region - an area of conflict between the British, the Boers, and the Zulus. All sections have numerous maps and street plans annotated with places of interest, accommodation, and other facilities and services, plus descriptions and colour photographs.
The 11-page road atlas section of the whole province has no relief colouring or shading, but highlights numerous places of interest, as well as toll gates on main roads, border crossings to Lesotho and Swaziland, and local airfields. The maps are followed by an index and lists of useful addresses for further information. Map legend for all the sections is inside the back cover.
