One of the titles in a series of touring and trekking maps of Chile and the neighbouring regions of Argentina. The principal map depicts the section of Chile between Villa O'Higgins in the south and Puerto Montt in the north, extending for about 200km into Argentina. Relief is shown by altitude tinting and spot heights of selected peaks. Glaciers and national parks are highlighted and many other geographical features are identified, e.g. bays, capes, islands, hills. Roads are classified either as paved or unpaved, and local tracks, railways, airports and aerodromes, and main sea routes are also marked. The map indicates driving distances on many roads as well as travel times for some of the sea routes. Other details include provincial boundaries and symbols for hot springs, custom points, petrol stations, and places with lodgings. Latitude and longitude margin ticks are at 30' intervals.
On the reverse is a map of part of the Laguna San Rafael National Park showing the area of approx. 50km around the Golfo Elefantes. A panorama drawing shows the approaches by road or track to Coihaique. Four very small street plans show Puerto Aisen, La Junta, Chaiten and central Coihaique.
