It incorporates tens of thousands of kilometers of onsite cartographic work, as well as all the kilometers covered to create ROAD’s travel guides 'Unexplored Western Macedonia' and 'Unexplored Central Macedonia.' This alone makes it truly insuperable.
This is map No. 2 of the basic, dark red ROAD 1:250,000 series. Designed on a precision geophysical background supplied by the Hellenic Military Geographic Service and created using the most advanced technology for the collection and processing of geographic data, it provides you with all the information you need, clearly marked on the handiest map available on the market. As all the maps of the dark red series, it includes:
*The entire main and provincial road network, with all scenic routes clearly marked.
*All the sections of the Egnatia Highway.
*A very rich network of forest roads, many of which appear on a map for the first time.
*The beaches, castles, monasteries, archaeological sites, many country churches, gas stations and tire repair shops, toll posts, national road intersections, ski centres, mountain refuges and much more.
A map of Thassos is included inside the grid of the map Macedonia.
The map contains eleven large, colour maps of Macedonian cities : Maps of Veria, Kastoria, Serres, Grevena, Drama, Kavala, Edessa, Florina, Katerini, Kozani and the centre of Thessaloniki.
It also contains an alphabetical index of cities and villages, in English and Greek, with a special index for archaeological sites and monasteries. It also includes a presentation of the Macedonian vineyards, the wines and wineries (with telephones, visiting hours, etc.) in cooperation with the Wine Roads of Macedonia. This map is special in that it marks the borders of Macedonia’s wine regions and the locations of the wineries.
