Technically, Greenland, or Groenland in Danish, is part of North America, but is always included as being part of Europe due to its historic connections with Denmark. There isn't much one can say about a map of the giant island; almost all of the interior is densely packed ice, and most of the coastal communities are small and isolated. Global warming is affecting the island; as some of the snow melts, parts of the island are being seen for the first time. This is a true adventure travel destination.
