Locally published map of Costa Rica, with a street plan of San José and basic plans of six other towns. The main map shows the country’s road network indicating gravel roads and 4WD tracks. Railways, local airfields/landing strips and ferry routes as also marked, as well as provincial administrative boundaries. Elevation colouring varies from the conventional use, with dark green indicating higher altitudes. The map has latitude/longitude lines at intervals of 30’ and GPS coordinates are provided for selected towns and other places of interest such as beaches, volcanoes, etc.
On the reverse is a street plan of central San José, with a brief street index. The small size and quality of print for some of the street names on the plan makes them in places rather difficult to read. The map also provides basic plans of Liberia, Puntarenas, Alajuela, Heredia, Cartago and Limon. Also included is a distance table, an overview map showing all the protected areas, and bilingual notes on the country’s transport system, medical facilities, museums, reserves, campsites.
