Details
One of the titles in a series of touring and trekking maps of Chile and the neighbouring regions of Argentina. The main map at approx. 1:250,000 shows the region from Santiago to the border and from Rancagua in the south to about 40km north of Santiago. Topography is presented by altitude tinting, spot heights and contours, although no height values are assigned to the latter. Many landscape features are also named. Roads and tracks are clearly marked, with airports and railways also indicated. Margin ticks show latitude and longitude at 15' intervals. Map legend includes English.
On the reverse enlargements show trekking regions east of Santiago at scales ranging from 1:50,000 to 1:80,000. Three maps cover the region extending for about 20km from north-east Santiago including Loma la Planchata, El Arrayan, Loma Arrollada and the Cascades de San Juan. Two more maps depict the route from Las Vertientes to San Alfonso, and the area around Baños Morales and Volcan San Jose on the Argentina border. Some of the marked treks indicate average walking times and distances in km. Please note: on the more detailed maps some latitude and longitude values are printed incorrectly and should be treated with caution!
