Indexed map of Kenya with additional larger scale maps of the coast, the Nairobi environs, central Nairobi, Mombasa Island and Nairobi National Park. On the main map general relief is shown by elevation tinting, with peak heights stated and marsh areas and seasonal rivers indicated. Road detail distinguishes tarred and un-tarred roads and shows some secondary roads and tracks. Main railways and airports are included. National parks, reserves and marine reserves are marked, and in addition to district boundaries and names, tribal names are marked on the map. Symbols denote hotels, lodges, safari camps, airstrips, border posts and places of interest. Inset is a schematic map showing road distances between major towns. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 2º intervals. The map is indexed for towns, national parks, reserves and major physical features. The Kenya coastal stretch from the Tanzanian border through Mombasa to Malindi is shown in more detail at approx. 1:300,000. Coral reefs are marked and beach resort accommodation is highlighted.
On the reverse is a road map of the environs of Nairobi at 1:820,000 and a 1:100,000 map of Nairobi National Park showing the entrance gates, wooded areas, lodges, notable sites and signpost numbers. Street maps show central Nairobi and Mombasa island at 1:10,000 and 1:22,000 respectively. These show one-way streets, built-up areas, important buildings, hotels, car parks, places of worship etc. They are indexed for government and public buildings, hotels, places of interest, embassies etc, but not for streets. The map legends are in English, French and German.
