Details
One of the titles in a series of maps showing the regions around Australia’s cities. Each title has three maps: a road map of the surrounding region, a more detailed map of the suburbs and environs, plus a street plan of the city centre. The regional maps are indexed (unless indicated to the contrary in the individual descriptions) and show the road network with unsurfaced roads and tracks. Symbols indicate roadside rest areas, campsites, accredited information centres, etc. There is no topographical information beyond names of mountain ranges and selected peaks, plus rivers and lakes, but national and state parks, conservation areas and reserves are all highlighted. The maps have a grid showing latitude and longitude at intervals of 30’ or 15’. Suburban maps, also indexed, show street names and suburb names with their postal codes. Street plans of city centres have lists of places of interest and selected accommodation. Many titles also include diagrams of the local tram, ferry or rail networks.
In this title: a regional map of the Gold Coast and its hinterland at 1:100,000, extending along the coast northwards to the southern tip of North Stradbroke Island and southwards to beyond the NSW border to Hastings Point; a more detailed map at 1:50,000 of the coastal area from Santa Barbara and the Sanctuary Cove in the north to Coolangatta and Tweed Heads on the NSW border; two street plans of the main areas of the Gold Coast: Main Beach - Surfers Paradise - Broadbeach and Coolangatta - Tweed Heads.
