A4, spiral-bound road atlas of Mexico, with plans of 51 towns, route diagrams, and an extensive index of localities. The atlas is identical to the road atlas section of the publisher’s more comprehensive Tourist Atlas of Mexico, which also includes a 186-page guide to the country.
The atlas section at 1:1,000,000 shows the road network from major highways to rural roads and dirt tracks. Railways lines and ferries connections are also marked. Other detail includes state boundaries, time zone lines, airports, maritime ports, archaeological and cave paintings sites and other places of interest. Relief is indicated by subtle hill shading, and further graphics show deserts, seasonal water features, swamps, flood zones, reefs and sand dunes. Latitude and longitude margin ticks are marked at 1º intervals. Additionally, the maps at 1:1,000,000 also cover Guatemala and Belize, and the central part of the country around Mexico City is shown at 1:500,000. Map legend and all the text are in Spanish only.
Street plan at varying scales show 51 towns, indicating access routes and main streets and highlighting places of interest. 45 diagrams show route connections between main cities, showing toll booth and service stations with various facilities. The atlas also has an extensive index of 13,000 localities. Also included are a distance table, a list of national holidays and local festivals, a map highlighting national parks and reserves, and information on road signs.
