Durable, laminated tourist map with street plans, regional maps and tourist information - one of the many handy-sized Flexi Maps by this publisher, impressive for the amount of information packed in a small format. The map is double-sided, dividing the country north/south. Hill-shading shows the general relief, with selected peak heights marked. National park and reserve areas are shown. Road detail includes intermediate road distances on main routes, and railways, major airports and major sea connections are marked. Unfortunately, the legend provides no road classification information. However an extensive range of symbols denotes points of interest, antiquities, cultural and historical landmarks, natural curiosities, reserves, recreational sites, etc. No latitude and longitude lines are marked.
Additional regional maps show in more detail the Cuzco/Machu Picchu region at 1:850,000 and Lake Titicaca at 1:950,000. On the reverse are street plans of central Lima and central Cuzco. These show such features as places of interest, information centres, pedestrian zones, churches, hotels, notable buildings, bus terminals, railway stations, museums, post offices, etc. The maps are indexed for towns, places of interest, districts, streets and places of interest as appropriate for the scale and level of detail, and throughout the coverage 28 major attractions are highlighted and provided with brief descriptions. Some general notes for tourists are also included e.g. public transport matters, money, telecommunications, climate & tourist information resources. On the back cover is a depiction of the ruins at Machu Picchu.
