Details
Road map of the Cape Peninsula extending beyond Cape Town and its suburbs to Bloubergstrand in the north, and Kraaifontein and Macassar Beach in the east. Robben Island is shown as an inset at approximately 1:187,000.
Road and railway detail is clear, although the scale does not allow many minor roads to be shown, particularly in the built-up areas. Colours distinguish urban residential, industrial, and protected areas and for altitudes above 700m there are contours at 50m intervals. Symbols show various landmarks, attractions and recreation sites e.g. information centres, wine estates, beaches, dive sites, bird and whale watching locations, etc. The map has no geographical coordinates.
Numerous visitor attractions and services are listed on the reverse of the map, with corresponding map references and contact phone numbers. There is also a street plan of central Cape Town.
