Details
A selection of road maps of five wine regions, with additional street plans and site maps of selected locations. The principal map at 1:130,000 covers Cape Town and the peninsula, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Somerset West, Wellington and Worcester. The road detail shows primarily the major routes but includes minor roads in the vicinity of wine-related locations. Colours distinguish highlands, parks or reserves, and built-up areas.
Getting to the main theme of the map, symbols show wine estates, wineries or cellars, and also cheese shops or cheese-tasting locations. Other symbols denote other locations of interest, hospitals, and selected hotels. The map is indexed and annotated with tables of regional climate statistics. Insets display street plans of Wellington, Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, showing the locations of post offices, information centres and places of interest. There are also plans of the Spier, Groot Constantia and Boschendal wine estates.
On the reverse are four more road maps at various scales of the Breede River Valley, Swartland and Oliphants River, Little Karoo region and Tulbagh region. Additional street plans show Worcester, Robertson, Tulbagh, Cape Town CBD and waterfront and the Kleinplasie Museum. There is a calendar of events and a table of wine related facts and figures with contact details for further tourist information.
