Details
One of the titles in a series of road map presenting Australia’s popular regions with street plans of main towns, description of places of interest and lists local events, tourist facilities in national parks, contact details of information centres, etc. In each title the main road map is relatively small, often covering less than half of one side of the sheet. The map is indexed and highlights main places of interest and areas shown on the reverse as enlargements or street plans. City to city maps have route diagrams of main highways indicating tourist facilities.
In this title: the main map covers the Great Ocean Road from Geelong to Warrnambool, where it joins the Princes Highway. The map extends eastwards to Melbourne and north to Ballarat. Main places of interest in the coastal area are highlighted and have brief descriptions. On the reverse there are street plans of the main towns along the route: Anglesea, Apollo Bay, Camperdown, Colac, Geelong, Lorne, Torquay and Warrnambool, showing places of interest, various facilities, etc. The map also includes lists of regional highlights, wineries, facilities in the national parks, festivals and events, plus longer descriptions of some of the region’s main attractions and an index of localities.
