Details
One of the titles in a series of road map presenting Australia’s popular regions with street plans of main towns, description of places of interest and lists local events, tourist facilities in national parks, contact details of information centres, etc. In each title the main road map is relatively small, often covering less than half of one side of the sheet. The map is indexed and highlights main places of interest and areas shown on the reverse as enlargements or street plans. City to city maps have route diagrams of main highways indicating tourist facilities.
In this title: the main map, slightly larger than in other titles, covers the Blue Mountains National Park west of Sydney, extending north to include the Gardens of Stone National Park. On the reverse there are enlargements at 1:25,00 for: Blackheath and environs (with a small street plan of the centre of Blackheath), Springwood, Glenbrook, Katoomba - Leura - Wentwoth Falls (with a plan of central Katoomba ,plus two insets highlighting local walks), Lithgow (with a plan of central Lithgow), Oberon, Mt. Wilson and Mt Victoria. The map also includes lists of regional highlights and a list of popular walks in various parts of the region. A small inset shows roads which form a special circular car tour of Blue Mountains.
