Reykjavik may not be the world's largest or most vibrant capital city - many average sized towns in Europe or the US are bigger - but it does contain a surprisingly wide range of sights and activities for the visitor. You will quickly get the sense that Icelanders are immensely proud of their country and of Reykjavik in particular. They love living here and very much want visitors to enjoy what the city has to offer. Given its size, a huge amount of time and effort has gone into bringing Reykjavik's museums, galleries, churches and public buildings, parks and sports facilities up to international standards.
