Details
One of the titles in a series of touring and trekking maps of Chile and the neighbouring regions of Argentina. The main map at approx. 1:500,000 (although the scale is not shown on the map) covers Tierra del Fuego and extends west to Punta Arenas and Cabo Froward. An impression of relief is given by elevation tinting and spot heights of selected peaks. Glaciated areas are highlighted and many geographical features are identified, e.g. hills, lakes, coastal points. Roads are classified either as paved or unpaved, many with driving distances indicated. Some trekking routes are also marked. Latitude and longitude margin ticks are at 30’ intervals. Map legend includes English.
An enlargement shows the coastal trekking route from Furte Bulnes to Cabo Froward, the southernmost point on continental South America. Again no scale is given, but approximate trekking times are stated. Another enlargement shows the Tio de las Minas, again with no scale and trekking routes.
