The map shows access to the site, petrol stations, information centres, caravan parks, hotels/lodges, fossil sites, and other places of interest. No scale is quoted but driving distances are stated on most routes. The map is surrounded by numerous illustrations of extant fauna and flora, as well as images of extinct hominids and other mammals. The index list fossil sites, tourist sites, and accommodation. On the reverse is more background information about the fossil sites and their significance, and on the prehistory of the region.
