Details
One of the titles in an extensive series of maps at varying scales, covering popular destinations in Argentina and Chile, including both countries’ main trekking areas. Most maps have a satellite image as their base, supplemented by information derived from various sources such as national surveys: contours, spot heights, vegetation and snow cover, roads and tracks, campsites and huts, etc. The maps have a UTM grid (WGS84) and/or latitude and longitude lines. Unless indicated in the individual description, map legend is in Spanish only. Sheet sizes vary, typical size is 41x60cm.
In this title: the map covers an area of approx. 56km east-west and 38km north-south, approximately centred on Val del Francés and Cerro Paine Grande (3012m). Coverage includes the eastern edge of the southern Patagonian Ice Field, Glaciar and Lago Grey, Glaciar Tyndall, Lago Paine, Lago Azul and Lago Sarmiento de Gambon. It has contours at 25m intervals, hill shading and spot heights for peaks. Colours denote landscape variations e.g. glaciers, forests and grassland. Dirt roads and trails are marked and symbols show campsites, huts, and isolated buildings, etc. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 2’ intervals, and UTM intersections and margin ticks are at 4km intervals. Map legend is in English.
