One of the titles in a series of touring and trekking maps of Chile and the neighbouring regions of Argentina. The main map depicts the lakes region between Puerto Montt and Temuco, extending from the coast to Junín de Los Andes in Argentina. Relief is effectively portrayed by altitude tinting and spot heights of selected peaks. Glaciers are highlighted and many geographical features are identified, e.g. hills, lakes, coastal points. Roads are classified eitherm as paved or unpaved, with driving distances often marked on relatively minor local roads and tracks. National parks, regional boundaries, railways, airports and aerodromes are also marked. Other information includes symbols for petrol stations, places with accommodation, police stations, customs points, places of interest, etc. Latitude and longitude margin ticks are at 30’ intervals. Map legend includes English.
On the reverse is a conoured map at 1:250,000 of Volcán Villarrica and the surrounding area, extending to Lago Villarrica, Lican Ray and Lago Neltume. Local national park boundaries are clearly marked, and campsites and lodgings are indicated. The map also includes street plans of central areas of Pucón, Valdivia, Osorno, San Martin de Los Andes, Bariloche, Temuco, Villarrica, Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas, indicating locations of the main hotels.
