Main map at 1:85,000 shows the whole island. General relief is shown by hill-shading & spot heights, and the road deatil includes some paths. Levadas are marked and symbols highlight airports, churches, ruins and cultural/historic sites, beaches, viewpoints and lighhthouses. The area of the Madeira Natural Park is clearly defined. Some of the text is quite small.
On the reverse are maps of Ilhas Desertas and Porto Santo at the same scale. There is also a 1:15,000 plan of Funchal and a more detailed plan of Funchal town centre at 1:7,500, showing car parks, one-way streets, notable buildings, hotels, post offices, museums, theatres and other landmarks.
The maps are indexed for streets, towns and places of interest as appropriate for the scale, and throughout the coverage 24 major attractions are highlighted and provided with brief descriptions. Some general notes for tourists are also included ie. public transport matters, money, telephones, climate & tourist information resources.
