A 135-page, paperback atlas with mapping of the whole province followed by sections covering six of the most popular areas at more detailed scales and with street plans of local towns.
The main section covers the whole province on 28 pages at 1:700,000, highlighting national parks and reserves, numerous places of interest, etc. There’s no relief colouring or shading, but mountain ranges are named, with main peaks and passes marked. Coverage includes the southern part of Lesotho. Latitude and longitude are marked in the margins at 30’ intervals and by cross tick on the maps.
This is followed by a series of more detailed maps of selected regions: Tsitsikamma, Sunshine Coast & Country, Karoo Heartland, Amatola Mountains, Friendly N6, and Wild Coast. Each of these regions is presented on one or more maps at scales varying according to the area covered (from 1:200,000 to 1:300,000). Street plans are provided for all the main towns within each area. The maps and plans are annotated with places of interest, etc., but, unlike the other titles in this series, this atlas does not include detailed descriptions and photos.
The maps are followed by an index and lists of useful addresses. Map legend for all the sections is conveniently placed in the cover flap, which can also act as a bookmark.
