One of the titles in a series of touring and trekking maps of Chile and the neighbouring regions of Argentina. The main map at 1:500,000 shows the area centred approximately on San Pedro de Atacama, extending to the coast between Antofagasta and Tocopilla, and east to the Argentinian and Bolivian borders. Salt lakes and seasonal rivers are shown and relief is depicted by contours, elevation tinting and some spot heights. Paved and unpaved roads and tracks are marked, with driving distances on main routes and locations of petrol stations. Symbols highlight places with accommodation or campsites, hot springs and viewpoints, etc. Latitude is shown by margin ticks at 30’, with longitude at 1º. Map legend includes English.
On the reverse there is an enlargement of the area around San Pedro de Atacama and a street plan of the town. Also included are plans Calama and Antofagasta, with enlargements for the central areas, plus a distance table.
