Colours distinguish land use eg. cemeteries, parks, shopping areas, institutions, industrial zones. Post offices, hospitals, police stations, malls, churches, tourist information offices, museums and other sites of interest are indicated. Walking paths, cycle routes, ferry links, bus terminals and railways are marked. MBTA metro lines and stations are highlighted.
The plan also includes a small diagram of the metro network and a small road map of the main routes into Boston and surroundings. Includes street index.
