The main map at 1:12,500 concentrates on South Sydney, south of the Harbour Bridge, reaching to Centennial Park in the south, White Bay in the west and Bellevue Hill in the east. Detail includes one-way streets, car parks, pedestrian zones, railways, Metro and CityRail stations, bus termini, ferries and harbours. Colours distinguish parks and built-up areas and a range of symbols denote various landmarks, notable buildings, museums, hotels, sites of interest etc. On the reverse is a smaller, less detailed map at 1:120,000 Sydney and suburbs showing main roads and railway connections, and another road map at 1:700,000 of the city's wider environs including Wollongong, Wyong and the Blue Mountains.
All the maps are indexed for streets, locations and places of interest, as appropriate, and throughout the coverage 26 major attractions are highlighted with green diamond-shaped symbols and provided with brief descriptions. Some general notes for tourists are also included ie. public transport matters, money, tourist information resources, retail trading hours. A diagram of the Sydney CityRail network is included.
