A title in a series of detailed topographic maps of the Atlas Mountains and neighbouring deserts, each with some local tourist information on the reverse. The maps are based on Russian military survey sources, with all cyrillic text replaced by latin alphabet text. Relief is portrayed by contours at 40m intervals and spot heights, with further graphic elements and colours indicating terrain and vegetation variations, and waterfeatures, eg. cliffs, ravines, dunes, woodland, saltmarsh and seasonal watercourses. Road detail includes unsurfaced roads and tracks. Where main roads meet the edge of the map, the distance to the next main town is stated. Railways and airports are marked, and overhead powerlines and gas pipes are included. For some high passes there is an indication of months when passable. Built-up areas are clearly marked and small symbol depict many details and landmarks, eg. isolated buildings, oases, ruins, mosques, churches, telecommunication masts, and mines.
